Throughout the Course of developing SPITE I did a great deal of Research into good boss design. I feel as though actually going in and dissecting good elements of games is a great benefit to the process of designing. It allows you to find what works and what doesn't about systems as a whole. Focusing on such a lauded and classic topic in games as Boss Fights gives a great insight as to why players play these games, and the purpose of these challenges in games as a whole. By taking apart and analyzing certain common through lines of games I believe we can learn exactly what works and what doesn't about certain aspects of games and trim down experiences into truly unique experiences unlike any seen in the world. I plan to continue these analyses for many of the other aspects of games to further my knowledge of understanding exactly what makes gamed fun. In addition, this is where I'll be curating some blog posts, analyses, and other general game design writing!
